Reimbursement For Hospice

In 1983 the Medicare program initiated a comprehensive benefit in an effort to help people receive end of life care. Over 80% of hospice services are provided under this program. A variety of other resources are available for coverage including Medicaid and most private insurances.

The hospice benefit provides a full scope of services including the hospice team, medical equipment, medical supplies, medication related to the terminal diagnosis, respite services (care given to a hospice patient by another caregiver so that the usual caregiver can rest) and grief support. In addition, we provide necessary supports for end-of-life care.
